Happy Wednesday,

Hope everyone is staying warm!

Today in ELA, students worked on story beginnings.  Their objective was to set the scene for their story, introduce the main character and identify the problem.  Students were encouraged to be detailed and ‘show’ their setting as it is an important component of their story.

“Once upon a forest of oaks, there was a father blue bird. Every morning he flies n search of food.  Before he went on his morning fly, the wind parades red leaves around the trees with perfumes of crisp air all around” ~ L.S.

“Pip inhaled the crisp refreshing air and absorbed the orange light seeping through autumn leaves like stain glass. He listened to the gurgling of the stream.” ~ A.H.

Note: please ensure to check your email for important information about our grade 5/6 camp at the end of April.  The mandatory parent meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25th @ 5:30pm.
