Happy Tuesday!

Today in math, students played Fraction Splat!  They were required to determine an original fraction amount, then they were required to calculate the missing fractional value hidden under the ‘splat.’  Learning objectives reinforced include mixed numbers, improper fractions and adding and subtracting.  

    

We also began our new weather unit in science. We began by identifying what we currently know about weather, and then distinguishing between ‘weather’ and ‘climate.’

Thursday, Jan. 30^th– Animal Dragon spelling test  

Friday, Jan. 31^st– Non-instructional day

Thursday, Feb. 6^th– Gr. 6 students visit Rideau for orientation.  

February 11^th& 12 – Student Council is hosting a bake sale. Treats will be on sale for $1 and all proceeds will be forwarded to a Australian wild fire fund.
