Happy Holidays!

For our last day of school, students built a large fort in the classroom, and then read with their little buddies from room 5.  Students then completed their visual journal assignment for science before taking up their scripts and performing ‘reader’s theatre’ skits for the other classes.

Students have been provided with ‘optional’ homework for the holidays. Before the break, students wrote persuasive paragraphs using complex sentences, either arguing for or against having homework.  Students against the assignment convinced me, but I’ve advised them that they have to convince you as well!  The homework is optional; however, I’ve advised that students who complete the Canadian map task will receive a bit of a reward in the new year.

Wishing all of you a very happy and safe happy break.
See you in January!
Cheers,
Arlene

Happy Wednesday,

Today in science, students incorporated vocabulary and definitions into their visual journal. Using a rubric to guide their work, students created an interactive and informative journal page to help educate others on the process and science of simple electrical circuits.

Reminder that tomorrow is literacy day, and students are encouraged to wear their PJs and bring a stuffy and blanket.  Also, if you have not yet returned your skiing form for January, please return with your child tomorrow.
