Happy Wednesday 

In math today, students looked at the ‘power’ of 37!  The students were provided with the following examples:
·       Say you pick the digit 3. We add 3 + 3 + 3 to get 9, and then multiply 9 x 37. When you work that out, the answer is 333.
·       Then you pick the digit 7. We add 7 + 7 + 7 to get 21, and then multiply 21 x 37. When you work that out, the answer is 777. 

Armed with the above examples. Students then needed to determine for themselves when the above pattern occurs. They needed to explore and determine if the ‘trick’ always worked, or if there were  exceptions. Students were very engaged as they discovered the pattern and rationale. 

   

Reminder on upcoming dates: 

- No school on Friday, October 11th and Monday, October 14th. 
- Picture day on Wednesday, October 16th
- Field trip to StudioBell Music Centre on Thursday, October 17th
