Student Vote 2019! Today students participated in a mock
election as they cast their ballot for the 2019 Federal election. After finishing their research on a specific election
issue, students spent time today viewing and comparing each party’s political
stance on each topic. Once complete, our election ‘poll’ opened and several
students played a role in officially running the voting station. Students then cast their ballot for their
chosen representative in the Ramsay community.
The ballots of our election have been counted and the results will be
announced Tuesday morning (after the election J).
The Student Vote program occurs nationally and it provides young people with an opportunity to experience the voting process firsthand and to practice the habits of informed and engaged citizenship.
For homework this weekend,
grade 6 students have been asked to complete tasks in Mathletics. Their log-in
information is located on the inside of their homework folder. Grade 5 students
have been provided with a homework sheet. Students are practicing identifying
factors and the greatest common factor (GCF) of two numbers. If students requires assistance in determining
factors, please assess this video for instructions.
Have a great weekend!
