Hi Families,

Today we had an opportunity to learn about one another. Students were placed in random groups and challenged to build the tallest card tower in the class! The catch? Before they could add a card to the tower, they had to write something on it that every member of the team had in common.  This activity promoted friendships, as it encouraged students to share with one another to discover their common interests and hobbies.

Also today, we also began to discuss our text What Do You Do with a Chance? As we read through the book, students were asked to consider the big idea and some of the overarching themes.

A.C. - "If you have a chance and don’t take it, you can regret it."

A.H. – "If you don’t take a chance, you miss out.  You have to take a risk - if you don’t do, you might be left wondering ‘what if.’"

E.d. – "If you don’t take a chance, you end up staying put and being scared."

We will continue to discuss this text as we plan for how to weave the main concepts and themes into our ongoing learning and work this year.
