Dear Grade 5 & 6 Ramsay Families,
Welcome to Room #9! My
name is Arlene McGrath, and I am the grade 5/6 teacher at Ramsay School. For returning grade six students and families,
I am excited to see you and I am looking forward to catching up and
working together again. For new families joining our classroom community, I wish
you a warm welcome and I am anxious to get to know you and your child.
We have some very exciting activities, events and field trips
planned this year – including our grade 5/6 camp at the end of March. Also, in
correlation with our curricular programming, we will be exploring several
concepts around our theme text this year What
Do You Do with a Chance? by Kobi Yamada.
We are replacing paper agendas this year, therefore our main
form of ongoing communication between home and school will be our Ramsay School Rm. 9 blog. Please ensure to check this site daily for
important information, in addition to updates on our classroom learning.
As we start our year together, please remember
to send your child with indoor shoes and ensure they are always dressed for the
weather (as it changes so quickly in Calgary). Also, we absolutely love the support of parent volunteers
both in the classroom and on field trips, so if you are interested in joining us
at any time, please contact the office to ensure we have the appropriate
paperwork completed and on file.
We are going to have an amazing year together! If at any time you have questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email. I look forward to hearing
from you.
Regards,
Arlene
