Today, we discussed the
importance of Remembrance Day and looked at a variety of poems in tribute of
this important anniversary. Students
then identified their own theme and will be composing their own poem in honour
of veterans and Remembrance Day. Several
students will be sharing their poem at the assembly on Friday.
In math, grade 5 students
practiced extending patterns and using rules to predict subsequent elements.
Grade 6 students utilized an Input/Output machine to create a table of values,
and then subsequently determined the corresponding pattern rules between the
values.
This afternoon most students
finished their Social Studies poster. The
objective of the poster was for students to highlight important aspects of the Canadian
Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and to inform new citizens of their rights and
responsibilities.
